HÉVÍZ.

Hévíz has been awarded with the title of Bicycle-friendly town by the Ministry of National Development. The award was received by Mayor Gábor Papp and Vice Mayor József János Kepli at the award ceremony held on 24^th January in Tata.   

25 local governments and 40 companies applied for the tender, which was invited with the cooperation of Cycling Hungary Association. During the assessment of the tender, the following were taken into account: if there was sufficient emphasis on cycling strategies in the settlements’ local development concepts, what quality the cycling infrastructure and services had and how they were maintained, how the popularization, promotion and education of cycling were carried out and with what results, and to what extent the measures regarding cycling could connect to tourism.   

Hévíz was the only applicant in County Zala who received this recognition.
